Before You Start

Finding tests or measurements can be a difficult process. You may have to consult multiple resources as well as your subject librarian. Before you start, consider the following: 

  • You will most likely have to ask for permission before using a test or measurement unless it is specifically stated that you do not have to. 
  • Published tests or measurements are made commercially available through publishers or authors. Unpublished tests are available through articles or dissertations, or may be purchased. You will still need to ask for permission to use unpublished tests unless it is otherwise stated. 
  • Talk with the faculty in your department - they may be able to offer guidance or have other resources available. 
  • Normal practice is to directly email the test or measurement authors or creators to request permission to use the instrument.
