Support for your teaching and research

Get to Know the Library

Welcome faculty!

We're here to provide support for your teaching and research, and we'd like to highlight a few of our services that may interest you.

Contact Subject Librarians:

Contact Subject Librarians for library research instruction, research assistance, and appointments with students. Provide class syllabi to help librarians with collection development, instruction, and research assistance.

Research Guides:

Assist students in using library resources like searching databases, requesting interlibrary loans, and tutorials. Provide links to our Subject Area Research Guides.

Research Databases:

Browse an A-Z list of library-subscribed databases where you can sort by subject.

Create Permalinks:

Create & use proxied Permalinks to licensed library journal articles within emails or Blackboard. The link provides statistical counts of material usage for the library.

Research Skills:

We offer tutorials, one-on-one assistance, and classroom instruction to help students with their research skills. More information about students' research skills can be found on the library website.

24 Hour Access:

Assistance is available 24 hours a day through our chat service - visit the library webpage for details.

Dean's Welcome:

The Interim Dean of Libraries has created a Welcome Letter that discusses past year accomplishments and upcoming plans.

Knowledge Commons

The Knowledge Commons is:

  • a central point for library services
  • a place where the UND community can find information on a wide variety of services
