Digital Multimodal Publishing Tools

What is Multimodal Publishing?

Multimodality means a combination of "spoken or written words, visual images, gestures, posture, movement, sound, or silence" ( Mills & Unsworth, 2017, p. 3). Multimodal resources are already a common part of our lives (think communicating with GIFs, Wordpress and Tumblr blogs, and even TikTok videos).

Open sourced publishing platforms, such as Scalar and Omeka, can be excellent resources for academic and educational collaboration and resources sharing. With Scalar, you can create digital books, workbooks, and reports for courses and group projects. Omeka can be used to create digital exhibits for interactive & visual presentations.
