What can Zotero do for me?


Quick Start Guide

  1. Step 1: Go to, and using the download button on the left, download the application to your desktop. Zotero will automatically detect whether you are using Windows, Mac, or Linux and your web browser.


  3. Step 2: Install the Zotero plug-in for Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox known as the Zotero Connector. It makes it quick & easy to capture PDFs and citation information as you're navigating databases and journals. The connector will only work when the desktop application is already installed.


  5. Step 3: Go to and click on Log In and register for a free account. You will not be able to sync your library across multiple devices or set up shared group libraries without a Zotero login!
