FAQs--Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Q:  How do I access ebooks?  A:  Search for any topic from the library homepage and limit by "Online Books." Click "Online Access" to get to the full text. If you are off-campus, you will be prompted to login using your UND username and password. 

2.  Q:  Can I download the ebooks?  A:  Ebook platforms generally allow you to download at least part of an ebook as a regular PDF without checking it out and the full ebook by checking it out and using Adobe Digital Editions. For platform specific details, see "Using eBooks." You can also read the full text of ebooks online.

3.  Q:  How long can I check out ebook titles when I download them?  Most of the eBook Collection (EBSCOhost) ebooks can be downloaded for 7 days (or less).  A few reference titles can only be downloaded for 1 day.  Proquest eBooks can be checked out for up to 21 days. Other platforms may allow you to download the entire book as a PDF with no checkout limits. The specific platforms will let you know the possible options during the download.
