Many eBooks are available through our library catalog.
Go to the library website
In the Search bar, type the title you are seeking
If a copy is available digitally, below the author's name will be a link that says Available Online. Click this.
It will show a "View Online" section with where the full text availability is. Choose one of the options in green.
You will see options for
View and download full book
Chapter only options (not on all records)
Click on PDF to open or download as requested per site
If you are off campus or for certain publishers, you may be prompted to login for online access.
If you want to see eBooks in a particular subject area, library databases with ebooks can be a great way to browse or search.
To get to them,
Use the "Quick Links" from the upper right hand corner of the library homepage
type eBook
Three (3) options will appear to choose from
See eBook Collection Subscriptions for the names of all specific eBook collections.
You may also find eBooks in general databases; look for a limit option such as "eBook" or "online book"
You can download popular eBooks and audio books, and other content to your device through Libby (by Overdrive) - North Dakota Academic Consortium
add the app to your device (UND Libraries Checkout, by Meescan Inc.) - available from both Apple's App Store and Android App on Google Play

On the app
Search for North Dakota Academic Consortium
Choose the University of North Dakota from the list of libraries
sign in with your UND credentials
Search for titles or browse the collection
Choose the eBook or audio book version (depending on availability)
On your SHELF, tap loans at the top of the screen. From there, you can
Read With... to choose to read with Kindle or Libby.
Open In Libby, Open Magazine, or Open Audiobook to read or listen
Manage Loan to see options to Renew and Return
You can have multiple libraries in your account, such as the GF Public Library (included in the North Dakota Digital Consortium) or your hometown library.
EBSCO and ProQuest eBooks will be returned automatically when the checkout period has completed.
Returning early
EBSCO can be returned early from Adobe Digital Editions
from your bookshelf, right click on the title you want to return
select "Return Borrowed Item"
You can extend the lending period by renewing it: Find the Renew option on your Loans page (under Loans). You can renew it 3 days before it expires, as long as the CFL still owns a copy and there are no holds.
