MedPix  A free open-access online database of medical images, teaching cases, and clinical topics, integrating images and textual metadata including over 12,000 patient case scenarios, 9,000 topics, and nearly 59,000 images. Organized by disease location (organ system); pathology category; patient profiles; and, by image classification and image captions. The collection is searchable by patient symptoms and signs, diagnosis, organ system, image modality and image description, keywords, contributing authors, etc.

Open-i  Open access biomedical search engine, 3.7+ million images from over 1.2 million PubMed Central® articles; 7,470 chest x-rays with 3,955 radiology reports; 67,517 images from NLM History of Medicine collection; 2,064 orthopedic illustrations, and more.

PubMed Once you have entered your search term, scroll down on the right -hand side. Look for PMC Image Search. Hover over the image thumbnail to see its caption and source OR click 'see more' to see to get the full results.

AJR (American Journal of Roentgenology) The ARRS GoldMiner search engine provides easy, rapid access to a large library of images and their associated text, and it is freely available for use on the Internet.
