Knowledge Commons at Chester Fritz Library

This guide explains what offerings are in the Knowledge Commons and how to utilize them.


New Service at Chester Fritz Library - Knowledge Commons

Beginning Fall 2020, the Knowledge Commons is open! It is:

  • A central “Academic One Stop” where students can access a wide variety of academic services
  • Located on main (2nd) floor of CFL
  • Students receive peer-to-peer assistance from other undergraduate students

Partners include:

  • Chester Fritz Library
  • Career Services
  • Learning Services

All partners are committed to regular weekly schedules and you can make an appointment for assistance. Of course, you are also welcome to do drop-in visits. Just stop at the Information Desk for assistance!

Information Desk

Purpose of Information Desk

  • This is the most forward facing desk, and the central point.
  • Questions on how to find materials, navigate the building, make appointments with our partners, or check out an item
  • Staff can explain self check machines and our library app for checking out!


  • Call 701.777.4644
  • Desk is staffed all hours the building is open

What's at the "old check out desk" now?

This is a service desk for the following:

  • Pick up interlibrary loan (ILL) items and holds
  • Questions about fines
