Knowledge Commons at Chester Fritz Library

This guide explains what offerings are in the Knowledge Commons and how to utilize them.

Information Desk

This is the most forward facing desk, and the central point. If you have questions on how to find materials, navigate the building, make appointments with our partners, or want to check out an item, this is where you want to start! Staff at this desk can also assist you in learning to use our Self-check machines!

You may contact them by calling 701-777-4644. We staff this desk all hours the building is open.

What's at the Access Services desk?

This is a glassed in desk area where you may go to pick up your interlibrary loan (ILL) items, pick up holds, reserves, and check out blue-ray players and other items from the Library of Things. If you have questions about fines, this is also where you will go.

Peer Research Consultants

Our Peer Research Consultants (PRCs) have been trained by the librarians to assist you in your undergraduate research. Please see below for more information and how to make an appointment with them. While their degree course is listed, they can assist you in any field of study. They also know when to refer you to a reference librarian, when appropriate. Our current PRCs are:
