Graduate School Workshops

Librarians work with the Graduate School to conduct beneficial workshops on library resources and services.  Here are some of the workshops that the library has presented:

  • Organizing and Managing your research
    • This workshop focuses on the different types of research and showcases citation managers promoted at UND
  • Publishing Strategies
    • Develop a preliminary plan during this workshop that is meant to assist you in determining best publishing strategies
  • Measuring Research Impact with Altmetrics
    • Learn more about metrics and altmetrics and how to use altmetrics for measuring your research impact.

Students can also schedule one-on-one sessions with their subject librarian.

Writing Assistance

Writing Center

The library not only serves as a rich resource for students to find quality information, but it also serves as an academic "one-stop" for students to get assistance in multiple areas. The Writing Center is located on the third floor of the library. Students can utilize the Writing Center to work with Writing Center staff on revising their papers and to get connected with additional writing resources. Projects the Writing Center staff can help with include (but aren't limited to):

  • Class assignments
  • Graduate dissertations and theses
  • Creative writing stories

The Writing Center has quality formatting guides to assist with citation styles like APA, Chicago, and MLA as well as tips for writing a UND dissertation or thesis.

For more information, please see the UND Writing Center webpage

Technology Assistance

University Information Technology (UIT)

In addition to the Writing Center, UIT is located in the library. UIT is located on the first floor of the library. Tech support is available to all students, faculty, and staff. Find more information about UIT by visiting the UIT webpage
