USMLE STEP EXAMS

Follow these steps to self-register for a BoardVitals account.
  1. Contact your campus librarian for instructions on how to set up an account for Board Vitals.
  2. Enter your information as appropriate. You must use your UND email address (usually first.last@UND.edu - do not use NDUS.edu) or your account registration will be denied.
  3. Read the Terms and Conditions. Agree by checking the box.
  4. Click “Register” to send the request for account setup.
  5. After registering, you should receive an email asking you to verify your account. You will not be able to access your question banks until your account is verified.
  6. You will then be able to access your account resources by clicking “My Dashboard” in the top right corner of the screen.
  7. From the "My Dashboard" screen, select the desired question bank from the dropdown menu. (If you do not see the question bank you want, click "Add/Manage Question Bank Favorites" at the bottom of the menu to see additional options.)

AccessMedicine
Click the Study Tools heading at the top of the screen. Select Clerkship Topics to access the listed topics in multiple ebooks contained in AccessMedicine. Some ebooks will also include review questions. Select Review Questions to take practice quizzes. You will need a free personal account to take create and complete customized quizzes. Available to current UND students, faculty, and staff only.

Go to LWW Health Library from the library website and click Texts to view General Refrence / Exam Prep materials. Or follow the links below to view specific texts.

LWW Health Library, BoardVitals, and Access Medicine all have review question banks to help you study for the Shelf and Step exams. 

 

SHELF EXAMS

LWW Health Library - Clerkship/Clinical Rotations collections contains both texts and practice quizes to help you prepare for Shelf exams. Follow these steps to utilize the Self Assessment section of this resource.

  1. To begin, click Self Assessment from the horizontal menu at the top of the homepage.
  2. Before you can access and customize quizzes, Create a Free Personal Account.
    *You may use any email address and password that you will remember. Your Personal Account is already affiliated with our UND SMHS subscription because you access LWW Health from our website.
  3. Click on the rotation in which you are interested.
  4. Start Quiz to complete all question for that rotation, or click on a sub-topic to access the relevant questions. For example, click Cardiology to access the 194 question related to that topic.
  5. After selecting the block of questions, you can further customize your quiz – number of questions, time allotted for each question, and areas for focus.
