An Aragonese Jewish Rabbi, Moses Sephardi, who converted to Christianity in 1106. The author took the name Peter at his religious conversion which occurred on the feast of St. Peter, and Alfonse in honor of his patron, Alfonso VI, King of Castile and Léon (1030-1109). The
Disciplina Clericalis was translated into Anglo-Norman French in the 12th century, and later into Spanish in 1526. It takes the form of fanciful didactic fables for the enjoyment and moral instruction of the reader.
