Journal Review Assignment

For your assignment, you will need to search a food sciences journal for an article on a specific topic.  I've compiled a list of some of the journals that you have access to through the Library of the Health Sciences.

Choose a journal from the list below and click on the title to access it.  If you aren't already logged-in to the library website, you will need to do so using your Blackboard username and password.

Look for a link that says "Current Issues" or "Archived Issues."  Some of our subscriptions prevent us from accessing the last 12 months of issues, so you might need to look for older articles.

Choose an issue and browse for an article.  Or you can search for an article on a specific topic.  Look for a search field that says "Search this issue for" or something similar.

Read the abstract of an article to decide if you can use it.  Pay close attention to the authors' credentials.  Also look at their references: do they have many; are they recent?  How long is the article?  Does it have a lot of pictures?  Make sure you're using a scholarly article from a peer-reviewed journal; no book reviews, editorials, or magazine articles.

Click on the PDF icon (it might say "PDF Full-Text") to open the article.
