Title With Multiple SUDOC Call Numbers

    a) create separate HOLs for each unique SUDOC number for issues held by the library

    b) include holdings in General tab Enumeration/chronology and  Description and Enum/Chron tab

Microfiche

If GPO sends us fiche, but MARCIVE's full record is paper 
    (FORM: is blank, there is no 533 tag, and 049 is UNDU [or other paper code])

1. if it is always fiche - change the profile

2. if it is a scattered issue out of many received in the item category 
        2-a)  Search OCLC for fiche bib record. If found, catalog and delete wrong records from Marcive. 
        2-b)  If no microfiche bib in OCLC, derive from print to create new bib. If no bib to derive from or format other than monograph, send to ABC. 
        2-c)  Non-preferred option is to edit existing bib in ODIN as follows: 
            007      hebmb---bcca 
            049      UND% 
            533      #3 Microfiche issue. #a Reproduction (microfiche). #b Washington, D.C. : #c Supt. of Docs., U.S. G.P.O., #e microfiches : negative ; 11 x 15 cm. 
        2-d)  Edit HOLding record.

3. if it is an occassional issue of a serial 
    3-a)  Follow steps 2-a and 2-b above. 
    3-b)  Non-preferred option is edit existing bib in ODIN as follows: 
        007      hebmb---bcca 
        049      UNDU #a UND% [or as appropriate] 
        533      #3 Microfiche issues. #a Reproduction (microfiche). #b Washington, D.C. : #c Supt. of Docs., U.S. G.P.O., #e microfiches : negative ; 11 x 15 cm. 
    3-c)  Edit Description to include *Fiche 
    3-d)  Edit HOLding records, one per Collection. 
  4. if a number of items come in varying formats, separate bibliographic records should be used to properly describe materials held. When this is done, Description does not need *fiche, etc.

Serials

1. Situations 
    1-a)  we may have already had a serial bib record and/or serial checkin record 
    1-b)  MARCIVE may send the record again if certain changes have been made, often to add URL 
    1-c)  MARCIVE may have sent serial bib record and several temp records and therefore also multiple barcodes 
    1-d)  MARCIVE may or may not send title changes

2.  Resolution 
    2-a)  When in doubt, use the serial bib record 
    2-b)  If the serial is currently received (within last couple years), create Subscription Record and Checkin Pattern for checkin. If totally unpredictable, create 1 Item with subscription and HOL links, then Duplicate items to add new issues. 
    2-c)  Unlink items from HOLdings records linked to temp records, move in tree to correct bib, link item to that bib's HOLding record 
    2-d)  Delete temporary records* 
    2-e)  If there appears to be a title change and any other question, send to ABC Cataloging for review 
 * Always verify the bib record is a MARCIVE record and not from OCLC  before RMR. OCLC records must be deleted in OCLC AND ODIN. A MARCIVE record will have the following characteristics: 
        040 has MvI 
        005 shows a date after Mar 12, 1996 
        049 has no other shelflist code 
        There are no barcodes for other locations 

Computer Files

1. Check for and update to correct format 
    1-a)  049: NDQE, NDQF, NDQE, NDQY (patents), UND*[CD-ROM], UNDG[CD/DVD-ROM], UNDG[Software] (floppy) 
    1-c)  remote/online: 
        A. If cataloged as computer file - Type: m 
            a-1)  add 006 as appropriate to describe other charateristics or accompanying material 
            a-2)  change 049 to UND7 
            a-3)  check for 256 or 516 file characteristics necessary to explain to users 
            a-4)  add 655 7 Genre term #2 as appropriate. If an LCSH heading is used as a genre, the 655 ind2 is 0 and no $2 
            a-5)  if there is a separate print record, add 776 0  #t Title #w (OCoLC)nnnnnn to make link 
            a-6)  856 with indicators 40 or 41 or 42 as appropriate, #z note #u URL 
            a-7)  add HOL and Item record: UNDMA WWW EBOOK or EJRNL, item statistic; call number on HOL is SUDOC (most recent) 
        B. If cataloged as another Type: 
            b-1)  add 006 for computer file 
            b-2)  add 007 
            b-3)  change 049 to UND7 
            b-3)  check for 256 or 516 file characteristics necessary to explain to users 
            b-4)  add 655 7 Genre term #2  as appropriate. If an LCSH heading is used as a genre, the 655 ind2 is 0 and no $2 
            b-5)  856 with indicators 40 or 41 or 42 as appropriate, #z note #u URL 
            b-6)  add HOL and Item record: UNDMA WWW EBOOK or EJRNL, item statistic; call number on HOL is SUDOC (most recent) 
        C. If electronic virtually replicates a print title, usually PDF of print, it may be added to the print record 
            c-1)  Add 530 Also available online. 
            c-2)  add 655 7 Genre term #2 as appropriate. If an LCSH heading is used as a genre, the 655 ind2 is 0 and no $2 
            c-3)  856 with indicators 40 or 41 or 42 as appropriate, #z note #u URL 
            c-5)  change 049 to include all appropriate shelflist codes, eg:  UNDP #a UND7 
            c-6)  add HOL and Item record: UNDMA WWW EBOOK or EJRNL, item statistic; call number on HOL is SUDOC (most recent)
