Most databases allow you to choose age groups as a limit when constructing your search.
PubMed uses the following age groups:
Infant: birth to 23 months
Preschool Child: 2 years to 5 years
Child: 6 years to 12 years
Adolescent: 13 to 18 years
In CINAHL, the following age groups apply:
Fetus, Conception to Birth
Infant, Newborn: birth - 1 month
Infant: 1 - 23 months
Child, Preschool: 2 - 5 years
Child: 6 - 12 years
Adolescent: 13 - 18 years
PsycINFO has more broad range categories:
Childhood: birth-12 years
Neonatal: birth - 1 month
Infancy: 2 - 23 months
Preschool Age: 2 - 5 years
School Age: 6 - 12 years
Adolescent: 13 - 17 years
Look on the search page for the Filters or Search options in order to choose to add one of the age groups to your search.
In PubMed use the "Additional Filters" button on the left side to find the available age group filters.
