What Can a Librarian Do for Me?

Many resources to assist you are included on these pages, but keep in mind that the librarian is available to help with a variety of requests, including:

  • provide general information searching assistance,
  • assist with planning and executing a literature review for an academic project,
  • assist with planning and executing a literature review for systematic review or meta-analysis,
  • provide group or individual training on most anything library or information related,
  • create web-based materials for a specific project or course.

Why?

According to the Association of American Medical Colleges, you should be able to do the following on day 1 of your residency: "identify clinical questions, identify information resources, and retrieve information and evidence..." (Core Entrustable Professional Activities for entering residency).

The ACGME requires 5 levels of the following milestones to be met during residency: Critical Thinking and Decision-Making and Evidence-Based and Informed Practice.
