Statistical Significance versus Clinical Significance

Statistical significance tells us if the difference between the two interventions is due to chance, or the difference is the intervention under investigation.

In research terms, statistical significance is a measure of the probability of the null hypothesis being true compared to the acceptable level of uncertainty regarding the true answer.

Clinical Significance is the extent to which a study result is judged to be meaningful in relation to the diagnosis or treatment of disorders. It measures the extent that a change can create a meaningful response for the patient.
