Radiology Search Resources

Your heavy hitter resources:

  • MedPix  A free open-access online database of medical images, teaching cases, and clinical topics, integrating images and textual metadata including over 12,000 patient case scenarios, 9,000 topics, and nearly 59,000 images. Organized by disease location (organ system); pathology category; patient profiles; and, by image classification and image captions. The collection is searchable by patient symptoms and signs, diagnosis, organ system, image modality and image description, keywords, contributing authors, etc.
  • Open-i  Open access biomedical search engine, 3.7+ million images from over 1.2 million PubMed Central® articles; 7,470 chest x-rays with 3,955 radiology reports; 67,517 images from NLM History of Medicine collection; 2,064 orthopedic illustrations, and more.

But you still might want to take a look at these:

  • AJR (American Journal of Roentgenology) The ARRS GoldMiner search engine provides easy, rapid access to a large library of images and their associated text, and it is freely available for use on the Internet.
  • LearningRadiology - Medical Student Resource A series of short modules designed for beginners alongside online textbook access. Lectures, unknown cases and more! They also have a Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter account that posts daily 'tests' to help you hone your radiologic ID skills
  • PediatricRadiology.com PediatricRadiology.com is a pediatric radiology and pediatric imaging digital library. Related search engine to SearchingRadiology.com
  • Radiology.org
  • RadiologyEducation.com
  • Radiology EBooks A digital library of free radiology apps and ebooks
  • Radiolopolis This is where RadiologyTutorials.com expanded into. Radiolopolis is a radiology community that does require you to set up an account but seems to be free. RadiologyTutorials is still an active link though if you have a preference.
  • RADQuiz A gateway to radiology news and perspectives for radiology education
  • Yale FSFB CIDER (Center for Interactive Digital Education in Radiology) Tutorials, 'Show & Tell' cases, ebooks and stats...Aimed at the medical community at large, and in particular at those junior members in training
