Angus Cameron Medical Library

Welcome to the Angus L. Cameron Medical Library!

Our purpose is to provide resources and services to meet your informational, educational, and research-related needs. Resources and services are available to the medical staff and employees of Trinity Health, the students, faculty, and staff of UND's NW Clinical Campus, the Minot Center for Family Medicine, the Minot area health care community, family members and the community-at-large.

As a UND Clinical/Community Faculty...

You have access to the full gamut of information resources available from the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences (SMHS). Additionally, you have access to me, a professional clinical librarian located at the Angus L. Cameron Medical Library in Minot... a resource local to you!

 

You have enough to handle with your day-to-day, and it is literally my job to help you with your research needs... a task I am happy to undertake! Please, contact me if I can be of assistance.

Resources

You can access full-text articles

Follow these steps:
  1. Access electronic resources (including PubMed) through the Health Sciences Library's homepage or through the sidebar tab "Popular Databases" located on the left side of this page
  2. Type in your search topic, and browse the results
  3. When you find something interesting, use the  button to access full-text books and articles from many electronic resources (The free access offered through UND will be linked in the first few lines that appear!).

 

     OR Contact the librarian by email, chat box (floating on this page), or via phone (857-5435) for a quick route to the article you seek!

 

How to request an article that does not seem readily available 

(i.e. Maybe there is nothing in those first few lines that indicate immediate access... it happens! And there is a work-around!)

 

If "Full-Text" is not available as indicated on the first few lines, don't worry... You can request that we borrow the article from one of our partner libraries. It does not take more than a couple of days at most and it is a service that is FREE to use:

  • Scroll down the "Find it" screen that you have landed on 
  • Select "Request through Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad - Library of the Health Sciences)" and login, the article information will automatically transfer.

If you do not have an account, see below for signup information...

Follow these steps:

  1. Apply for an interlibrary loan (ILL) user account here. (You will receive an email confirmation when your account has been approved.)
     
  2. Access search tools and look for the  button following the steps above.

   

Remember...You have access to many services provided by the campus librarian located at your hospital library.

 

  • Article Requests

          Do you know a specific title but don't have the time to search for it? Call it in (857-5435), access the chat box                      floating on this page or email a request. 

  • Research Assistance and Literature Searches

Are you on your rounds and a special topic came up that you want information to pass out to your crew? Are you looking into a new technique or a special topic you would like help finding support for? If it is going to take you more than ten minutes, why not use the librarian? 

  • Training and consultations

Contact me... Your local professional medical librarian! Available for personal help accessing any of the library's  resources, assistance with presentations and the tools available to you through your institution. You can also request an orientation or resource presentation for a group!
