KEEP ADDRESS CURRENT IN CAMPUS CONNECTION & in the Interlibrary Loan registration database. MUST be UND faculty, staff, or currently enrolled students for service. We will not order your textbooks or ebooks. We'll usually mail/send materials that are not available full text to U.S. & Canadian distance students & faculty. A distant person does not live within a 58201, 58202, 58203, or 56721 zip code and does not come to campus regularly. Allow our staff at least 10 working days for delivery of articles (allow 2 weeks on the forms) & 15-30 business days for delivery of physical items. Sign up/register for Interlibrary Loan Distance Services in Step 1 (below). We e-mail messages to your IDM university e-mail. We will e-mail a barcode number & then if you don't already have a library card, we will mail a library card with your barcode number for filling out Interlibrary Loan requests & in-library checkout (For in-library checkout, bring this card with a photo ID, unless you get a UND ID to use when on campus).
DO NOT PLACE HOLDS ON LIBRARY MATERIALS. Holds only work for individuals who are on campus.
JOURNAL ARTICLES may arrive electronically for free within a few days. Check your UND e-mail & Save/Download or Print immediately, because articles are only available electronically for a short period of time--for 30 days OR 5 views.
BOOKS: Pay postage to mail books back to us by mail, FedEx, or UPS by the due dates (or request a renewal one week in advance below). You may want to add tracking to the books, since processing & replacement fees are charged for overdue or lost materials.
OVERSEAS: Some materials may be restricted. We will not send books from other libraries overseas, but we might be able to scan a chapter or provide other options. Inquire of the distance librarian. Contact information is provided (to the right). (If you have connections to 2 different universities, we can help you figure out your main home library for Interlibrary Loan Services).

ONE-TIME Sign up for interlibrary loan service as long as you remain continuously enrolled. We will mail materials to distance addresses, so please let us know if there are changes to your contact information. You will be given a barcode & a library card for interlibrary loan service.
Go into "My Account" & check the box for the title to renew & then Click "Renew Selected" OR click "Renew All" to change due dates for books. THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE A BOOK IS DUE OR YOU WILL NEED TO RETURN THE BOOK. This renews books that have the Chester Fritz Library stamp on them. If you do not see the book that you wish to renew, it is not a Chester Fritz Library book, & you will need to send a renewal request to firstname.lastname@example.org TO SIGN INTO "MY ACCOUNT": Use your university e-mail username & password OR Use the long barcode number on your ID card (number is something like 40100000....) & usually your last name as your password.
