Whatever your subject area, there’s a government document for that!  To find materials in your subject area, search the library catalog (, browse this research guide for starting points, or take a look at the bulletin board on the way down to the first floor of the library for examples.

The Government Publishing Office is the largest distributor of print and electronic resources in the United States.  As a Federal Depository Library, UND has access to this wealth of current and historical primary sources.

The Chester Fritz Library has been a Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) library since 1890 and is currently a joint regional depository with NDSU.

FDLP libraries across the United States regularly receive shipments of federal documents and are required to allow the public access to these documents so that users don't need to journey to Washington DC to see the materials.

State Documents

Chester Fritz Library is also a member of the North Dakota State Document Depository Program.

North Dakota state government documents both in print and online are accessible through the Chester Fritz Library.

See the North Dakota and Minnesota Government Information guide for resource suggestions.
